The Music Industry On Wheels
Real-world music industry education, brought directly to students.
Music × Education × Technology × Culture
What if the music industry pulled into your school parking lot?
The Future Is Yellow is an immersive music-industry education program where students don't just learn about careers in music. They play them.
Students become the artists, producers, songwriters, engineers, managers, executives, marketers and creative directors behind a real music project.
Don't just teach them
the industry.
Put them in it.
Built by someone who lives it.
Meet Suni MF.
Suni walks you through it

Suni MF is an award-winning songwriter, recording artist, producer and creative entrepreneur whose work moves across music, television and sports.
She has written on records for artists including Drake, SZA, Sexyy Red, Paul Russell, Keke Palmer, Saweetie and Flo Milli, with placements in television and film — including acting work on HBO's Rap Sh!t. She knows every room this program teaches: the writing room, the booth, the label meeting and the rollout.
The writing room
Hooks, verses and top-lines for major-label artists and multi-platinum records.
The screen
Music placed in television and film, plus on-camera acting work on HBO's Rap Sh!t.
The classroom
Built and taught The Future Is Yellow model with students at Mays High School.
Now she's turning access to that real-world experience into opportunity for the next generation.
My why
“There was so much I didn’t know about this industry, and a lot of it I had to learn the hard way. They say it takes 10 years to become an overnight success — and those 10 years built my character. Now I want to give kids the knowledge, confidence and expertise I wish I had earlier, so when their opportunity comes, they’re not just dreaming about it — they’re equipped, prepared and ready for it.”
Equipped. Prepared. Ready.
— Suni MF
One song. Eight roles. One team.
Students step into real music-industry roles and work together to take a song from idea → record → rollout → audience.
Together, they build the rollout.
We tested the model.
The students built the rollout.
At Benjamin E. Mays High School, The Future Is Yellow gave students the opportunity to learn how the music industry works by actually participating in the process.

LEARN
Suni introduced students to her career and taught them about the different jobs and career paths that bring music to life.

PRODUCE
Students interested in production worked with producer Malcolm, who provided the original instrumental stems, to remix Suni MF’s song “Grow Up.”

WRITE + RECORD
The students helped write a new feature verse, one student was selected to feature on the remix, and students in the class recorded the song’s hook together.

CREATE
The experience moved beyond the recording process as the students participated in shooting a music video for the “Grow Up” remix.

PERFORM + CELEBRATE
Suni hosted The Future Is Yellow Talent Show at Mays for Music in Our Schools Month, judged by DJ Milan, Jeremy Green and Greggory Smith. Students performed the “Grow Up” remix with Suni, premiered the video, and received certificates.

Suni took over the class for a week
Before the talent show, Suni led the music tech class for a full week — this is where the “Grow Up” remix was created with the students.
Mays proved the experience.
The mobile creative studio takes it on the road.
The bus transforms this hands-on experience into a mobile creative platform designed to bring real-world music industry education to more students and communities.

Project
Dream Bus.
We bought the bus. Now we’re building what’s inside.
Future Is Yellow is the program — it existed before the bus and keeps going beyond it. Project Dream Bus is our first mobile creative studio: a flexible space bringing songwriting, production, recording, mentorship and industry exposure directly to schools and communities.

- Now we build.
To build what's inside
98 sq. ft.
of possibility.
Approx. 13'6" long · 7'3" wide · 6'10" high — split into a professional vocal booth, a production station and a collaborative classroom.

Vocal booth
Enclosed booth, professional microphone, acoustic treatment and recording equipment.

Collaborative workstation
Seating for 4–5 high school students at one work table: writing, production, marketing, creative development and music-business education. Converts to a rest area when the bus is travelling.

Studio computer, large monitor, MIDI keyboard, audio interface and studio monitors. The desk sits against the vocal-booth wall — never the window wall — so students look forward and see the instructor and the main display head-on, like the front of a classroom. Concept dimensions — field verification required.
